Following the adoption of Plainfield’s new Comprehensive Plan, the Village has partnered with Teska Associates, Inc., Sightline, and Ancel Glink to create a Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). The UDO will bring together the Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Code into one modern, easy-to-use document that guides and supports development in the community.
On December 2, 2025, the project team held a kick-off meeting with members of the Plan Commission and Village Board. During the meeting, the team shared the project’s goals, timeline, and key focus areas, and announced the launch of the new project website to keep the community informed. Commissioners and trustees also weighed in with thoughtful ideas and observations about Plainfield’s current development patterns. Their input will play an important role as the project moves forward.
